DESTINY MALAYA is an exciting and authentic historical novel set in Malaya at the height of the Emergency. It is a distillation of events and personal experiences during the author’s six years of service with British and Malay infantry battalions in Perak, Selangor and Pahang and his close association with Special Branch, whose operational activities are also a feature of the book.
A thread of romance, suspense and intrigue enhances the tale, which also focuses on the successes and weaknesses of the Communist Terrorist Guerillas under Chin Peng, and the involvement of the Chinese Secret Societies.
Colonel Peter Stock was born in Lucknow. India, where he lived for 12 years before completing his education in South Africa and England.
After Sandhurst he was commissioned into the Royal West Kent Regiment. During 31 years of army service six were spent in the infantry in the Malayan anti-guerrilla campaign, where he was mentioned in despatches and awarded the MBE.
After leaving the Army early he joined Shell International as Security Adviser, a post he held for twelve years. He then established the international security arm of the de-nationalised British Gas over three further years of corporate service. Before finally retiring he ran his own consultancy and lectured frequently at the Farnham International Briefing Centre.
He is married, and has homes in London and Brighton.
